...and we're back

Today got started with some excitement as I went to turn on my laptop and nothing happened.  I figured I'd take a look at it later in the day, but the prognosis is never good when you press the power button and absolutely nothing happens.  After some Weber Grill chili, we hit the road headed for Michigan.  The leaves are beginning to change rapidly, and I expect to see lots of color in the coming weeks.

We arrived in Grand Haven and took a brief stroll out to the boardwalk/beach area in town.

We had dinner with some of Molly's relatives, and it was nice to have a home-cooked meal for the first time in a while.  After dinner, we sat around on some new furniture and talked economics, winter weather, sports...

and how to make shapes of states with your hand.

Alaska

After arriving at our hotel, I set to dissecting the laptop.  I basically took everything apart, removed some dust, checked connections, and put everything back together.  I had little hope that it would ever work again, and I was actually getting excited at the prospect of getting some new technology.  That excitement was furthered by Apple releasing the stunning new lineup of their Macbooks today.

But, my keen sense for bringing computers back to life kicked in and I worked my magic.  It's now up and running like nothing happened.

  2. Adam THOMAS, you are quite the haxor! Nice work saving your lappy. You are a working man now, go out and buy yourself a new mbpro, you've earned it.

  3. Nice work on the laptop...turns out NAU doesn't have any special deals going on anyway. Internet prices are the best we get, and the free Ipod deal isn't even going on anymore.
